Woman In Desperate Need Of New Leg – Need 15.87

Good Morning.

We alert you today of an opportunity to help a woman walk again. She has been unable to walk due to complications with her 28 year old prosthetic leg. Before we get into the details of this opportunity to help her walk again, let me tell you a little about her.

She is the full time care giver to her adult son that is wheel chair bound due to a brain injury. Even though she has not been unable to walk due to her prothetic leg complications, she has continued to slide around the house to care for the son she loves so dearly. As I have spoken to her many times over the past several months, she has not complained one time. She is most disappointed that the leg complications have taken her away from her ministry efforts.

She has been heavily involved for many years in several ministries. They include street ministry to the homeless, prison ministry and nursing home ministry. As we have discussed solutions to her need her response has always been, "I just want to get back out there..."

We located and are woking directly with a Local Area Expert in Prosthetics. They have tried several different, less expensive, options to solve the problem with her 28 year old leg. None of them have worked and it has become obvious that she needs to be fitted for a new socket. We have gone through that process and everything is moving smoothly. The company that is fitting her has even reduced the cost dramatically.

They have fitted her with a new socket, liner, and protective sleeve. It is the most up to date prothetic technology available. We literally have the opportunity to get this woman on her feet today.

This need is need is sort of large and we are aware that Christmas is near and budgets might be tight. However, we could not wait on this need. The prothetic company can not let her take the leg home until the reduced cost is paid in full.

Our Area Expert in Prosthetics has reduced the cost of the following to $1990:

• Socket Replacement
• Cushioned Liner
• Socks
• All After Care Adjustments

TOTAL NEED = $1990

*The normal Cost for all of this would be $3200
